Business Development Manager for Animal Nutrition

Bio-Cat and Bio-Cat Microbials is seeking a highly motivated sales professional to join our Business Development team. This position could also cover other areas including human nutrition and food sciences.

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Deliver against all revenue/growth targets

– New business development – identify, assess, close, and onboard new business segments, new customers

– Strategic account development – build and execute growth strategies with mid-large scale corporate customers

– Account management – own the day-to-day administrative responsibilities; forecasting, pricing, order management, special requests.

– Ability to navigate organizations, build trust, alliances, and relationships that advantage increased access and influence

– Professional client facing contact – best in class representation

– Participate as a high functioning cross-functional team member

– Ability to travel 40-50%: extensive travel required to ensure direct customer interface

– Must be willing to be based out of the central Virginia HQ

KEY SKILLS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate would have the following:

-Bachelor of Science and/or advanced degrees in: Biology, Biochemistry, or related sciences.

-3-5 years of sales experience with a proven track record, preferably in the life sciences to include Animal Science, Food Science, Human Nutrition.

Fermentation Scientist

BIO-CAT Microbials is a GMP fermentation company in Shakopee, MN that specializes in the manufacturing of food-grade Bacillus-based products for use in crop agriculture and human and animal nutrition. We are SQF certified and have on-site fermentation with downstream product processing including centrifugation, spray drying, and blending. From soil inoculants to animal health and probiotics, we strive for quality and integrity with every custom solution we produce.

We are seeking a fermentation scientist to join our research and development team. The fermentation scientist will conduct research with a focus on development of new bioprocesses and optimization of existing fermentation processes for bacterial spore production. In this role, you will work individually and collaboratively to develop, plan, and execute fermentation experimental designs at lab and pilot scales and effectively communicate results to key stakeholders.

IT/User Support Specialist

BIO-CAT is seeking a driven individual to help provide technical assistance to computer users in our Troy, VA location. Duties involved answering questions or resolving computer problems for employees. You will also provide assistance with computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project manager for ERP system, including testing, install, training and ongoing resolution of employee user issues.
  • Coordinate IT needs for future construction projects.
  • Assist in all areas of information technology including operations, troubleshooting, cybersecurity, maintenance, replacement and upgrades to company owned computers or network assets as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

0-5 years of experience. Experience in SAPB1 a plus. Must have strong computer and communication skills with the ability to work in a team or individual employees as required.

Regulatory Affairs Associate

BIO-CAT is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Associate for our Troy, VA location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Regulatory Affairs Associate will handle and communicate regulatory issues, documentation, processes and company needs on a daily basis ensuring all requests are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Requests can include allergen statements, genetically engineered, animal derivative, organic, SDS, composition documents.
  • Will serve as liaison with vendors regarding customer queries/technical requests and support customers with organic and non GMO certification requests.
  • Perform annual renewal updates on licenses as applicable and assist internal customer service and sales team as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Good communication and computer skills, and ability to work individually as well as in team environment is essential. BS or background in Biology, Biotechnology, Regulatory Affairs or related field preferred. Entry level will be considered as well as those with experience.
